Outstanding monitor for small spaces and surround systems
This high-performance monitor comes in a very compact design and is ideal for production environments where space is a concern. The BM5A is well suited for music monitoring and mixing, broadcasting, mobile vans, edit suites, playback suites, project studios and smaller post production facilities. The small size in combination with renowned Dynaudio Acoustics performance also makes the BM5A suitable for smaller 5.1 productions. When space is limited, the combination of the BM 5A with a subwoofer will deliver a full-blown 5.1 system with remarkable performance usually only found in larger setups.
100% custom-designed and built drivers, cabinets and electronics
Like all Dynaudio monitors, the BM5A is completely custom-designed and built to assure a perfect match of components. The drivers are specifically designed to avoid acoustic and performance problems that would require extensive manipulation of crossovers to correct. The cabinets are crafted in Dynaudio's Denmark facility and minimize resonance while enhancing bass response. And the BM5A's crossovers, protection circuitry and power amplifiers all are optimized for maximum performance, phase-coherent reproduction and high SPLs.
Clear, clean bass from 6.9" woofer
Dynaudio molds the BM5A's low frequency driver cone of Magnesium Silicate Polymer with their special "flat cone" geometry for outstanding transient response and minimal breakup. With a cast aluminum frame, oversized vented magnet and 3" aluminium alloy voice coil this driver delivers plenty of output power and sheer punch down to 50Hz.
Even, peak-free response from silk dome tweeter
The BM5A's high frequency driver ensures quality and high headroom. While many monitor manufacturers use metal dome drivers which can have problematic peaks, the BM5A's specially coated silk soft dome tweeter provides excellent response with no ringing or resonances.
Master-built bass reflex cabinet
Also built in Dynaudio's plant, the BM5A enclosure is constructed of hand-selected premium woods and quality veneers. Its front bass port contributes to the BM5A's surprisingly powerful low frequencies. Radius edges on the front baffle reduce boundary effects and improve the overall sound quality. And with its elegant matte finish the BM5A looks every bit as good as it sounds!
Precision electronics for the cleanest possible signal
Thanks to its custom-designed electronic crossover the BM5A offers a seamless transition between drivers. You've got plenty of power from the built-in high performance amplifiers, with 50 watts for the low frequency driver and 50 watts for highs. Precision protection circuitry ensures the drivers are safe from damage. If you need quality in sound reproduction for a small environment you don't want to miss the BM5A!

When coupled with one or two Dynaudio Acoustics subwoofers, the M1 is transformed into a full blooded main monitoring system which is flat from 35Hz to 20Hz, and is capable of delivering very high SPLs in mixing position. |
The M1.5 is a fairly "punchy" monitor with an incredible bass response mainly suited to popular music tracking and mixing, voice and dialog recording, and as L, C, R monitors in high performance surround monitoring systems.
Mounted either in the nearfield on top of a console or in midfield just behind
the console on suitable stands, it can easily fulfill the majority of monitoring needs. Flush mounting is also an option when careful attention is paid to room design, construction and acoustic treatment.
An obvious feature of the M1.5 is the extraordinary output from such a compact speaker.
For the first time, a performance exceeding that of many so called "main" monitors is available from a unit of a size suiting even the smallest facility.
With a frequency response from 40Hz to 20kHz, and a maximum output in excess of 120dB SPL at 1.25m, the M1.5 is truly exceptional.
Where it is quite normal to employ audio processing techniques to extract the last drop of performance from a drive unit in an active system, the totally passive M1.5 relies purely on component quality. The secrets behind its performance lie in the new high sensitivity drivers developed exclusively for this model, coupled with a very efficient twin ported cabinet and an impedance corrected crossover which ensures that the optimum load is presented to the amplifier at all times. Imaging is pin sharp, even in difficult environments, thanks to the directionally controlled tweeters.
A trim switch on the rear of the cabinet allows for fine tuning of the mid/high frequency response, further enhancing its use in near and midfield environments with
varying acoustical characteristics. | Stereo imaging is pinpoint accurate thanks to the computer optimized designs of the crossover and drivers, and the M2 is capable of SPLs of up to 125dB at 1.25m as a stand alone system. When combined with a pair of Dynaudio Acoustics subwoofers, the system becomes a full 4 way main monitoring system capable of very high SPLs with a full frequency response down to below 35Hz.
The original design concept for the M2 was a compact near-to-midfield monitor, which would remove the need for larger built-in systems with their inherent problems of accuracy, installation and cost.
Every component of the M2 has been designed for both quality of reproduction and extreme reliability, and each driver can comfortably handle very high transients with no degradation of signal or components, leading to an outstanding dynamic response when coupled with a suitable amplifier with good current capabilities.
The result is a system which, in its various configurations, is the most flexible monitor package ever designed. By combining M2 with Dynaudio Acoustics subwoofer systems, it is possible to use one basic package for anything from desktop to
main monitoring.
The M2 is essentially flat from 45Hz to 20Hz, and the specially designed bass, mid range and high frequency drivers are capable of reproducing impulsive transients of up to 1000W each without compression. | Designed for continuous high power operation in a correctly constructed acoustic space, the M3 represents the fruit of a research and development program aimed at elevating main monitors above the realm of modified PA speakers. A pair of 300mm bass drivers are perfectly complemented by two 150mm piston midrange drivers employing massive 75mm coils. High frequencies are accommodated by a high power version of the 28mm ESOTAR T-330 DA dome tweeter, which enjoys a reputation as the finest dome tweeter available. All drivers are ferrofluid cooled, a benefit only made possible on low frequency drivers by the use of custom designed ferrofluid compounds applied to very tightly tolerated voice coil gaps a feature absolutely unique to Dynaudio Acoustics.
The result is a very clean, dynamic and powerful speaker in which common problems, such as cone break up, thermal compression and phase misalignment have been almost eliminated. Frequency response is full and flat, and the overall transparency of sound leaves no doubt that the M3 truly advances the art of monitoring at high levels without sacrificing quality at more relaxing volume.
Levels from 85 to 120dBA exhibit essentially identical timbre allowing total confidence in mix decisions regardless of monitoring level.
Passive or Active
The M3 Main Monitor is available in both Passive and Active versions. Both versions employ the same sophisticated impedance corrected passive crossovers between midrange drivers and tweeter. The Passive version has internal links for simple adjustment of low frequency levels, and is primarily intended for user installation on rigid stands within a control room, although soffit mounting is entirely feasible. The bi-amped Active system uses an active external crossover offering full equalization capabilities together with dual-band electronic driver protection.

The BM 9S subwoofer is intended to operate with the BM series monitors, more specifically, the BM 5A monitor. It is extremely well-suited for that extra punch to the bottom in setups where space is limited. The BM 9S delivers a clear, crispy and surprisingly powerful punch when you take its almost diminutive size into account. The BM 9S will complement stereo and multichannel monitoring equally well and when daisy-chaining of subwoofers is needed, it sports a low level LFE input/output.
For significant control and enhancement of the general performance, the BM 9S is a closed cabinet type. This creates an internal pressure by which the woofer gains a considerable amount of precision when it comes to the reproduction of low frequent signals. This precision is easily audible and it augments the feeling of reality that the listener experiences.
The BM 9S is very suitable for the following production environments:
- Post Production
- Music Recording and Mixing
- Film Editing (smaller rooms)
- DVD authoring and Mastering
- Multichannel Production (Audio or Audio for pictures)
- Broadcast
- Edit suites
- OB vans
The BM 9S is designed according to the strict BM series specifications. With a 10β woofer and 200 Watts of power, and virtually minute dimensions, this sub is tailor-made to take care of even the most comprehensive challenges where space is scarce. Being every bit as versatile as the rest of the BM series, BM 9S is a very competent partner for smaller stereo and multichannel setups, giving a very powerful system for even the most demanding users across the globe.
The Auto On/Off function, provides a minimized idle energy usage by shutting off after minutes of no input signal. The auto sensing circuit enables BM9S to automatically come to life when input signal is detected.
The satellite filters that this sub sports, provides high-pass filtering of the monitor source signal allowing 60Hz or 80Hz corner frequencies.
This is a huge advantage for the monitor performance, as the satellites do not need to deal with power consuming lower frequencies. This leaves all the satellite power to greatly accelerate performance and precision.
Main Features:
- 10β woofer
- Phase adjustment in 0° / 180°
- Auto on/off, power LED
- Mode selection, LFE or slave
- Adjustment of low-pass corner frequencies (50-150Hz)
- SAT/SUB high-pass adjustment, Flat, 60 Hz, 80 Hz
- Small dimensions: 11.6β X 11.4β X 12.5β
- 200 W @ 4 Ohms
- Discrete LFE input, slave output for linking
- Closed cabinet for extremely precise low frequency reproduction

The BM 14S subwoofer is perfectly aligned for operation with the BM and M series monitors.
For larger multichannel setups with e.g. five M1.5's, multiple BM 14S's will be a preferred choice.
The BM 14S is designed to take care of the most challenging requests and it will compliment larger stereo and multichannel setups in even the most demanding studios.
The BM 14S has been designed as a closed cabinet type subwoofer. This type of cabinet design gives you significant control and enhancement of the general performance as the closed cabinet creates an internal pressure. This adds considerably to the amount of accurately reproduced low frequency signals. When audio reproduction is more accurate, it will add to the sense of reality, and the BM 14S ensures exactly that.
The BM 14S is very suitable for the following production environments:
- Post Production
- Music Recording and Mixing
- Film Editing
- DVD authoring and Mastering
- Multichannel Production (Audio or Audio for pictures)
- Broadcast
- Edit suites
With a substantial 300 watts of power coming from the 12β woofer and an impressive low frequency limit of 18 Hz, this subwoofer is the perfect match for the BM and M series monitors.
With an auto On/Off function, energy usage shuts off after minutes of no input signal, thereby saving energy when the subwoofer is idle. As soon as an input is detected, the auto sensing circuit enables the subwoofer to come back to life.
A satellite filter feature is provided by the BM 14S, enabling adjustment of low-pass corner frequencies from 50 to 150Hz of the monitor source signal. The subwoofer will thus take care of the lower and power consuming frequencies, and thereby adding to the performance and clarity of the monitors in the system. This is due to the high-pass filtering feature that the BM 14S comes with. If the need arises to daisy-chain more subwoofers to the same system, the low level LFE output gives you exactly that choice.
Main Features:
- 12β woofer
- Phase adjustment in 0° / 180°
- Auto on/off, power LED
- Mode selection, LFE or slave
- Seamless adjustment of low-pass corner Frequencies
- SAT/SUB high-pass adjustment, Flat, 60 Hz, 80 Hz
- Dimensions: 13.8" x 14.5" x 16.5" / 350 x 368 x 420 mm
- 300 W @ 4 Ohms
- Discrete LFE input, slave output for linking
- Closed cabinet for extremely precise low frequency reproduction
